Right besides the Alfândega (Customs) Building in Porto’s riverside, in the old Miragaia neighbourhood, a new wall carving by Portuguese street artist Vhils (Alexandre Farto) stands alongside an out-of-the-ordinary new cultural space called Armazém (“warehouse”, in Portuguese): these are definetely two new must-go sites in Porto.

For itself alone, Armazém, a place where you can find vintage items as well as enjoy exhibitions or eat a traditional Portuguese meal, deserves a visit.

The same goes to the new intervention by (Vhils), which applied his  groundbreaking carving technique to an old house in a neighbourhood full of history and identity of Porto. In Vhils own words:

“The piece combines natural and human elements, with the figure’s eye gazing out poetically towards the city and its old neighbourhoods, humanising the built environment while highlighting the wealth of its human heritage.”
